Job Description
Location: Pigshill and Clarrick Woods, Millbrook / Maker, Cornwall PL10 1LA (map link)
Application deadline: Sunday 15th December 2024, midnight.
Start date: 6th January 2025, or asap.
Hours: Freelance, around 2 days per week worked flexibly over a 10 week period from 6th January 2025 to 17th March 2025.
Pay: National Living Wage at £11.44 per hour (depending on age). The total available contract fee is up to £1,740, which is 152 hours or 21 x 7 hour days.
About Pigshill & Clarrick Woods
Pigshill and Clarrick woods are a stunning 66-acre woodland located within the Rame peninsula area of outstanding natural beauty. Our community interest company (CIC) manages these woods with a focus on ecology, sustainability, community and education.
The location is easily accessible from Plymouth via the Cremyll (foot and bus) and Torpoint (car) ferries.

Digital Media Internship at Pigshill & Clarrick Woods
We are looking for an intern to join our team who is excited about reaching communities through social media and producing educational video content. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about nature to gain experience managing a multiplatform digital presence and build a portfolio of work. The role will involve utilising an up to date knowledge of social media trends to reach a wider audience and using innovative modern methods to engage with the local community.
There will also be an aspect of generating video content that may range from showcasing our conservation work to generating digital access to green spaces. You will need:
Some knowledge of the woods and of the communities that we are hoping to reach.
Excellent computer and communication abilities.
A passion to create engaging content for existing and future audiences.
A solid understanding of digital media engagement, current trends and best practices in digital marketing.
The skills to produce compelling video content.
To contribute new ideas and be involved in multiple projects simultaneously.
An innovative mind, strong work ethic and deep love of nature.
Responsibilities
To develop, maintain and update a digital media presence across multiple platforms.
To produce regular exciting content for output on social media.
Edit and post-production of video content to ensure a polished and cohesive final product.
Communicating ideas with members of the management team, our volunteers and the wider public.
