Eternal Depth
Onyou Oh / 8m / Korea
“The camera captures the texture of the water, documenting the fluidity it unravels, and the poem in the film delves into the process of finding perpetuity in vulnerable moments, eventually becoming combined with the series of oceanic images. It is an experiential and sensorial dream intertwined with the ever-pulsating nature of the waves, a letter to all the forgotten times breathing underwater.”

It is a collaboration between artist/filmmaker, Cathy Rogers, and sound designers, Adam Collins and Sean Price. The film is a response to ‘The Hours of Our Lady’, an extended prose-poem by David Frankel. Moth Print
Sarah Bliss / 4m / USA

A cameraless handmade film, it employs a laser printer to image directly onto a clear film leader, creating both (optical) sound and image. Each printed sheet contains 231 frames patiently composed and assembled one by one: 9.6 seconds of projected film. It utilises two texts: a digital video shot of a Galium Sphinx moth compulsively dive bombing a light that could destroy it, and a manuscript page from Bliss’s father’s unpublished memoir in which he describes visiting his own father who was dying of Alzheimer’s.
